Chimera A4, Monday Evening

After a quick trip to Jeff, God of Biscuits, Z sat cross-legged on her bunk with a cupcake with two candles stuck in it, singing softly to herself.

"Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday, dear me,
Happy birthday to me."

Then she made a wish, blew out the candles, and ate the cupcake.

"What's up is that it's your birthday!" he says cheerfully, holding out the box.

"It is! I'm two. You shouldn't have," Z said, but she was already reaching for the box.

"Happy second and seventeenth!" Bridge says. "And of course I should have. Why wouldn't I?"

Z shrugged. "Because no one ever does? It's really not that big a deal."
