Room 317, Sunday Night

Z lounged on her bed, reading a magazine and willfully ignoring the blinking light on her computer that indicated a waiting message from Commander Cruger, because she still had no idea what she was going to say to him.

Maybe if she just pretended this wasn't happening, it wouldn't. Yeah. That was the ticket.

"I'll do my best," Z said, "but I don't think he's the talking lion, and I don't have any idea where he is. Do you? I mean. You're him. Sort of."

"Um. No idea. Generally we could be anywhere at any one time," Jamie replied. "He's probably in the dorm someplace."

"Yes, I do actually know how it works. Believe me, I know how it works." She sighed and created a half dozen replicates and waved a hand toward the door to tell them what to do. As they trooped out, she told Jamie, "I'll let you know how it goes. Or he will."

"Great. Thanks mystery girl. You're the best," Jamie replied. "I'd talk more but I've got an evil corporation to break into."

Z was already in a bad mood, and she was kind of starting to dislike old Jamie Madrox. "My name is Z. I told you that already. Good luck with your evil corporation. I gotta go." And then she hung up on him.
