The Z sitting next to her had her 15 Ways... notes, and was frantically reading them in an attempt to commit them to memory.

"Only we could have this conversation," Z observed. She jerked her head down the hall and said, "He went that way."

"There are days I really hate myself," Jamie huffed.

Then he stamped his foot to create a duplicate. "You go get him!" he ordered.

The dupe rolled his eyes and trotted off after his naked self.

"Um. So I guess I've been a little lame and haven't seen you since the wedding," Jamie said looking a little sheepish. "Sorry."

"I might see fit to forgive you," Z told him. "Eventually. After appropriate amounts of groveling. So, what's up? Gremlin bite?"

"Gallon of coffee at the coffee bar," Jamie said face-palming. "I'm really an idiot. Anything I need to do to earn that forgiveness?"

"Yikes," Z said upon learning of the Jamie's coffee intake. "He'll crash eventually, right?" But as for the other... "You could buy me dinner. Or something."

Jamie tilted his head and decided to up the ante. "How about a movie or something on New Year's Eve? If I'm going to make it up to you might as well be decent, right?"

"All right," Z said, "it's a date."

A grin crossed Jamie's face.

"Awesome."

Z jerked her head in the direction the duplicates had gone and suggested, "Should you be getting after them?"

And with that he trotted off.
