Room 317, Thursday Afternoon
Z was goofing around on her computer, downloading hip-hop with bad grammar, when a window popped up announcing new mail.

Cadet Delgado,
As your parole officer, it has been brought to my attention that I should, from time to time (say, at least once a semester) check to make sure you are actually where you are supposed to be. As I don't feel like time traveling at the present time, e-mail will have to suffice. So, please let me know you haven't run off, and we'll call it a day.
Officer Cloud Blake
SPD Earth
Z frowned at the e-mail for a moment before firing off her response.

Officer Blake,
I am, of course, still attending Fandom High in the town of Fandom on Fandom Island, Virginia, 2007. I have to admit I'm kind of surprised you didn't know that. I would have thought Dr. Manx would have kept you updated.
Respectfully,
Cadet Z Delgado
A few minutes later, she got another e-mail.

Cadet,
Why would Dr. Manx be keeping me informed on your status?

Maybe because she'd been e-mailing Z and Bridge fairly regularly to check up on them, and had recently visited the school and held room inspections? This was the kind of thing Z had assumed would be passed on to her parole officer, but apparently not. Surely Kat had a good reason for keeping Officer Blake out of the loop, though?

Sir,
No reason. Forget I said anything. I'm here, making good grades, participating in extracurriculars, building teamwork skills with Cadet Carson, the whole nine yards. So, um, now you know.
Respectfully,
Cadet Z Delgado
Well, that had been weird.
((Door and post are open! Officer Blake is Z's in-jokey NPC parole officer (the in-joke being that Commander Cruger, Z and Bridge's boss, once called their teammate Sky Tate 'Cadet Blake.'))
