Dorm Computer Lab, Monday Evening
Z didn't know what led her to google her parents. Maybe it was sheer masochism. Her dad's name and her mom's maiden name were pretty common, and it was hard for her to sort them out from everybody else who just happened to have the same name. But she was already a year old in this time, so her parents were married...
She typed 'Daniel and Kendall Delgado' into the search bar and hit enter. There wasn't a lot--a wedding announcement, her birth announcement, a site listing both of them among recipients of botany degrees from Angel Grove University. But still, it was her parents.
On a hunch, she clicked over to image search and found a group photo of her parents with eight people she didn't recognize, all of them wearing lab coats over some sort of uniform. It looked like all the company logos had been blurred out. "Weird," she said softly to herself, but she hit print anyway. The wedding announcement had just had a photo of her mother, so this was the only picture she'd found of both her parents together. She could always cut her parents' coworkers out.
