SPD Academy, Newtech City, 2023, Tuesday Afternoon

Cruger
"Listen carefully, A-Squad. Preparation is the key to any tactical defense. Report to Delta Air Base for last minute simulation instruction. Earth depends on you. Dismissed." Cruger says, giving A-Squad a salute as he sends them off on their mission.

Charlie
"Yes, sir!"

Cruger
"Good luck, A-Squad."

Sky
"Attention!" Sky calls out sharply as A-Squad rushes past them on their way to the hangar. The five cadets stand at attention, taking a step back to let the A-Squad Rangers past. "That is who I want to be," he says, awed. "I'm going to be the Red Ranger." The look he gives Bridge and Z promises a world of trouble if they so much as start to say the word 'argyle'.

Ghost
"Well you won't catch me dead wearing pink, that's for sure," Ghost says. "Not... that there's anything wrong with guys in pink. It just makes me look sallow!" he adds hastily, before Syd can launch in to an impassioned defense of her favourite colour.

Z
"And also, 'Phantom' isn't a colour."

Ghost
"Actually, there's a funny story about that..." he trails off as the A-Squad Rangers pass by the group. "Geez," he says, clearly impressed. "Did you see the size of them? Even the girls are massive!"

Bridge

Bridge, unfortunately, is a few seconds behind his teammates with the whole "standing at attention" thing. Which is just long enough to result in A-Squad Pink bumping in to him, knocking one of his gloves off partway. He reaches up to readjust it, but on a whim, pulls it off all the rest of the way and gives the Rangers a full scan as they continue down the hallway. The colours swirling around them make him frown thoughtfully.

Z
"What's wrong, Bridge?" Z asks, noticing her teammate's expression.

Bridge
"I don't know. Their energy, their colours. Something's off."

Z
The others didn't look too concerned by Bridge's proclamation, but Z hadn't spent two years in Fandom without learning to pay attention to the things Bridge learned via his powers. "Something like what?" she presses.

Bridge
"I don't know," Bridge admits, frustrated at his own inability to see their path clearly. "Just that, wherever they're headed, there's going to be trouble."

Sky
Sky rolls his eyes. "I don't need to be psychic to figure that one out. Come on, let's go," he ushers the others in to the Command Center.

Cruger
"Cadets, I trust you have enjoyed your training here at the SPD Academy."

Z
"Well, technically speaking, just about all of my training was done in Fandom," Z points out.

Syd
"And since you asked, the fluorescent lighting gives me a bit of a headache-"

Cruger
A low growl escapes Cruger's throat as he looks pointedly at both of them.

Syd & Z
The girls, in a rare moment of camaraderie, share a sheepish look and offer a "Yes, sir," in unison.

Cruger
"And not that your training has ended- or will it ever end while you're here. But as your Commander, I must now call upon you to step up and take on new responsibilities... as B-Squad." He really, really hopes he's not going to regret this decision.

Bridge
"Yes!" he crows excitedly, reaching over to punch fists with Syd, noticing with amusement that even Sky can't help a pleased little smirk from appearing on his face at the news of their promotion. Finally, they are one step closer to being real Power Rangers.
