Well, it's Marvel. Saying stuff like 'oh, he's most likely sterile' or 'really, they're out of hetherto unknown Summerses to reveal', or 'Cable's inner narrative made it pretty clear he was sure he was dead' will, inevitably, lead to them going out on a limb, no matter how crazy, to make sure it happens.
