Room 317, Saturday Afternoon

The girl who lived in 317 was, like many people today, a bit confused. She'd woken up (again like many people today) not knowing who she was, but a dig through her things had unearthed a pile of letters from someone named 'Z' to someone named 'Jack' who was in jail. And she'd found a lot of uniforms in her closet. She assumed she was Jack, and they were prison uniforms of some sort. This didn't look like a jail cell, though, though she wasn't even sure how she knew what a jail cell looked like. A halfway house of some sort, maybe? She wasn't sure she trusted the look of the robot-thingy.

If anyone came by room 317, they would find the door open and 'Jack' peering out, wondering if it was okay for her to go outside.

Adam had set to wandering the building, trying to figure out who he was. A name, that's all he was looking for.

And so he happened onto the third floor, and wandered by room 317. Noticing the girl, Adam stopped. "Are you okay?"

"We won't get in trouble or anything?" Jack asked. "Do you know where we are, even?"

"We shouldn't," Adam shook his head. "I've seen a bunch of people walking around. I... I have no idea but it kind of looks like a dormitory?"

"Yeah, but I think I'm supposed to be in jail?" Jack said. "Or maybe I just got out. I don't know."

"Jail, really?" That made Adam frown slightly. "You don't look like you should be in jail, but then again, I can't even remember who I am so I could be wrong?"

"I don't know?" Jack said with a shrug. "I found a bunch of letters to me from somebody named Z who seemed really mad at me for being in jail. Do you know Z?" she asked hopefully.

"That name doesn't ring a bell, sorry," Adam smiled ruefully. "I can't even remember my name right now... which is pretty scary, come to think of it."

"I'm Jack," said 'Jack.' "I found my name out from the letters, but before that I didn't remember it, either."

"It's nice to meet you, Jack," Adam smiled, offering out his hand. "Oh, I should've probably looked in my room to see if there was anything that might've had my name on it."

"It's worth a try," Jack said as she inched out into the hall and tensed. When nothing happened, she relaxed a bit.

"See? So far, so good, right?" Adam offered an encouraging smile. "Maybe if we checked out the town, we could find out what this place is. Maybe get some clues?"

"Fine by me," Adam smiled, having a feeling they might not get in trouble. But then again, he could be wrong. Oh well.
